Another 'peeping' incident, rape reported

FAYETTEVILLE

The peeping complaint is one of many police have received this month.

Around 2:21 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a "Peeping Tom" call on Bear Creek Circle. The victim told police a man knocked on her window and when she opened the door, the suspect tried to pull her out of her residence.

The woman screamed and the man ran away.

After that call, police were dispatched to another home on Bear Creek Circle in response to a sexual assault.

The second victim said a suspect fitting the same description as the "Peeping Tom" in the first call knocked on her back door. When she opened the back door, the man pulled her outside and sexually assaulted her.

Police say both incidents are similar to incidents involving a suspect who was involved in other crimes reported in the area. Officers are continuing to investigate those similar crimes.

Both victims in Monday's incidents gave police a suspect description, but it is not very detailed. The suspect in both incidents is described as a man who was wearing a black fitted hat, shorts and no shirt.

Tuesday, police released a composite sketch of the man.

If you have information about any of the crimes, call the Fayetteville Police Department at 433-1856 or 483-TIPS.
