Man charged with over 80 counts of sex crimes

CUMBERLAND COUNTY Rudy Derrick was arrested Friday afternoon on felony charges that include; one count of a crime against nature, 27 counts of a sex act by a substitute parent, 12 counts of statutory rape, 14 counts of 2nd degree rape, two counts of 2nd degree sex offense and 27 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Investigators say Derrick allegedly became involved with a then-13-year-old victim in 2007. They say he threatened the girl to engage in sexual activities over the past three years.

Derrick is currently under a $1.6 million bond. He is scheduled to make a first court appearance on Monday in the Cumberland County Detention Center.
