Investigators with the Wake County Sheriff's Office requested the search warrants hoping to pinpoint exactly when 51-year-old David Green was murdered.
They discovered his body Wednesday inside a freezer in his Raleigh home on Ray Road, where investigators had stopped by searching for clues into his disappearance. Green's brother reported him missing on Sept. 1.
Detectives arrested 41-year-old Wendy Edmond Green at her parent's home in Lumberton early Thursday morning and charged her with his murder. They say she was David's live-in girlfriend and the mother of his two teen-aged children.
She had apparently moved out of the house on Ray Road, sometime after David was last seen.
The warrants say he apparently died of severe injuries from unknown cutting instruments. They also say based on witness statements, the sheriff's office had reason to believe the actual murder took place as far back as January.
The warrants also reveal authorities are seeking financial information related to credit cards belonging to the victim -- items that were allegedly found inside Wendy's purse when she was arrested. Two cell phones were also found inside her purse.
In addition, authorities are seeking Progress Energy records to determine exactly when the company shut off power to the house on Ray Road.
