Police: 'Explosive device' starts fire at club

Firefighters say a suspicious fire at Club Illusions at 416 Raleigh Street appears to have been started by some sort of explosive device.

Emergency services were called to the club at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters put out a small fire on the roof of the building which caused minimal damage.

Witnesses reported an explosion in the area at the time of the fire and debris from the rooftop was scattered about 180 feet.

The Fayetteville Fire Investigation Team (FIT) is investigating along with members of the SBI, ATF and FBI.
