Sixteen-year-old Brenton Billups and 18-year-old Kenneth Sam face several charges, including common law robbery and interfering with an emergency communication.
Police say on Sunday, the pair attacked Manoj Gopinath as the man attempted to call 911 for help.
Gopinath was hit in the head and knocked out.
Police say the men then stole the victim's cell phone.
Both Billups and Sam are being held in the Wake County jail.
