That meant big changes in Wilson County where newly elected sheriff Calvin Woodard did not renew 19 current deputies and other personnel.
In Wake County, Sheriff Donnie Harrison was scheduled to take the oath Monday evening. Harrison was just elected to a third term in office.
And in Hoke County, another long-time sheriff took the oath. Sheriff Hubert Peterkin is also serving his third term.
