Fire damages apartment complex

RALEIGH

Raleigh Fire officials said about 16 people are out of their homes after a fire in the Arbor Creek Apartments, which is on Poretree Place off of Buck Jones Road. Residents said they awoke to alarms, yelling and neighbors knocking on their doors around 1:30 a.m.

A quick response by the Raleigh Fire Department extinguished the flames before there were any serious injuries. One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

An ABC11 Eyewitness News photographer was first to the scene. He said one unit appeared to be gutted by flames.

Authorities said the cause of the fire was under investigation. Raleigh Police said they were called to the same address earlier for a domestic dispute.
