Police said early Monday morning someone noticed a chemical leaking from a train car on the tracks behind Seaboard shopping center in the area of Halifax Street and Peace Street.
After a hazardous materials response by the fire department, crews decided the chemical was a food additive and not necessarily toxic in small amounts.
Roads have reopened and the scene has cleared.
