Police storm house on a false call

January 24, 2011 4:17:48 AM PST
Durham Police officers stormed a house on Gregson Street early Monday morning.

They were called to the house around midnight.

Police said they were acting on a tip about a murder, but it was all a misunderstanding.

After going in the house with some serious firepower, police brought residents out in handcuffs. They later released the residents, who said the person who called police is a family member who is harassing them.

They also told officers it is not the first time this has happened.

Police said they are trying to track down the caller to make sure it does not happen again.
