A little snow could follow rain

RALEIGH

Meteorologist Chris Hohmann says there's a chance the rain could switch over to some wet snow as the system leaves the region.

"Occasional rain and drizzle will continue into Wednesday as the storm system moves away and an upper level storm moves overhead," Hohmann said.

Rainfall amounts look to be about half an inch, with some spots getting a little more. Afternoon temperatures will range from the low 40s near Roxboro, to the mid 40s in the Triangle, to the low 50s in the Sandhills.

The rain could briefly change to some wet snow before ending across northern parts of the viewiing area near the Virginia border, but no significant accumulation is expected.

The rest of the week looks mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40s.
