Troubleshooter: Bathroom remodel woes

RALEIGH Mary Madlon says she has problem spots in the master bathroom flooring and with her shower she had refinished by Miracle Method.

"I showed him the soap dish where the paint came off and he said yes it wasn't done right," she said.

Madlon hired Miracle Method back in February 2009. For $6,500 they gave her master bathroom, along with several others areas of her home a whole new look with their surface restoration.

"The colors were avocado, dark blue, and avocado has been out since the 70's and I wanted to get rid of it," she said.

While Miracle Method did take care of other issues she had with the job, she still has problems with her master bathroom. Madlon says she tried to reach out to the owner of the Miracle Method branch manager, Ricky Herring, several times.

"I was just so frustrated," she said. "I just didn't know what to do. I couldn't find them and it was under warranty, what was I going to do hire someone else to do a $2,000 job all over again."

When Madlon couldn't get it taken care of, she contacted ABC11 Eyewitness News I-Team Troubleshooter Diane Wilson.

ABC11 got in touch with Herring, and he said he's been very busy, but Madlon is on his list to get taken care of. It took some time, but Madlon's bathroom has been re-done and she's happy with it.

"I'm so grateful you were able to contact him," she said.

Madlon's job was under warranty, and instead of just fixing the trouble spots which the warranty calls for, the complete master bathroom was redone, Madlon just has to pay for the materials for the job.

As for Miracle Method, Herring also apologized for the delay.
