Teen arrested, charged in 82-year-old's murder

HARNETT COUNTY Officials received a 911 call around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday about an unresponsive man found inside a home in the 1100 block of C.P. Stewart Road in Lillington.

Homeowner Andy Collins died shortly after law enforcement and emergency medical service personnel arrived.

A neighbor told police that they saw Collins' 2011 Toyota Camry leave his home in an unusual manner, so they went to the house to check on Collins and found him unresponsive. Collins lived alone.

Authorities later found Collins' Toyota in an old mobile home park about 5 miles from the crime scene.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Matthew Robert Fogleman Thursday morning and charged him with first degree murder, motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen motor vehicle.

Family members told ABC11 Thursday that Collins appeared to be stabbed.

"They're looking for the weapon in the pond because they think they stabbed him with a knife," said granddaughter Lesley Collins.

Fogleman is currently in the Harnett County Jail under no bond.

Authorities say Fogleman knew Collins and had done yard work for him in the past.
