There have been reports of numerous waterspouts off North Carolina's coast Thursday and at least two of them came ashore, turning into tornadoes - waterspouts are tornadoes over water. One system came ashore near the Marriott Hotel near Alabama Avenue.

New Hanover County was placed under a tornado warning Thursday morning after police reported two different tornadoes in the area. There were also waterspouts spotted at Oak Island, Kure and Wrightsville beaches.

WWAY in Wilmington reports that there is damage in Carolina Beach, but the extent of it is unknown at this time. So far, just lawn chairs and umbrellas reportedly blown over.

There have been no injuries reported.
