Autopsy reveals teen stabbed about 30 times

CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C.

The Fuquay-Varina teen's body was found by a fisherman shortly after 1 a.m. on August 6 at the Bells Church public fishing access at Jordan Lake.

Perez was last seen on August 4, before her family reported her missing to the Wake County Sheriff's Office the next day.

Authorities quickly arrested Gabriel Alejandro Maricio Lopez, 20, of Apex, who investigators said was Perez's boyfriend, and Alejanero Prada Sanchez, 19, also of Apex.

Lopez is accused of stabbing Perez multiple times after an argument between them while at the lake. Sanchez was present during the stabbing, according to investigators.

The autopsy report revealed that the 15-year-old girl suffered multiple stab wounds to her torso, neck and arms.

Lopez and Sanchez are charged with first-degree murder. They are currently being held in jail without bond.
