NC State students robbed off campus

RALEIGH

"We're just trying to have a good time," he recalled.

Driscoll, 22, says he and his roommate briefly stepped outside their apartment on Octavia Street. When they returned, three men they didn't know followed them back in.

One hit the roommate on the head with the butt off a gun. Driscoll says he couldn't believe what was happening.

"In shock, cause I know even my roommate said 'Is this for real?! Are y'all serious!?'" Driscoll recalled.

Driscoll says two of the men, who were unarmed, forced his roommate to the floor while the gunman put the barrel of a pistol to his head.

The gun wielding man led him upstairs, demanding cash and valuables.

Driscoll says he could hear his roommate downstairs.

"Cussing at them, saying 'Y'all are better than this. Why are y'all doing this?!'" said Driscoll.

When the nightmare ended, the robbers had gotten away with two smart phones, a calculator, a custom built laptop, and a set of car keys. The items will cost thousands to replace.

"While no one was physically hurt, Driscoll says he fears the robbers could harm someone else, or even worse, return.

"We're not afraid. I wouldn't say afraid. We're more angry," he offered. "I want to see them get caught … and go to jail. They put a gun to my head. I want to see them go away."
