Thirty-year -old Michael Orlando Hunter died June 18 around 4:30 p.m. Police initially went to check out a report of a traffic accident, but learned Hunter had been shot.

His black BMW 323 was found crashed into a tree near Jackie Robinson Drive.

Investigators said they believe Hunter was shot in the area of Hwy 147 at the Fayetteville Rd. exit and then drove approximately 200 yards before losing control of the car and running off the road. 

Hunter, of Stonehedge Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene.
