Bridge over Neuse River closes for demolition

December 12, 2011 12:23:56 PM PST
One of North Carolina's oldest bridges is now closed. The 73-year-old Wake County bridge spans the Neuse River on Falls of Neuse Road.

Crews will tear the bridge down next month and will replace it with a new one, which should open in 2013.

A detour will send drivers over the newly constructed bridge on Falls of Neuse Road.
