Suspect wanted in gas station shooting

Authorities in Fayetteville are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a local gas station.

On March 10 around 2 a.m., police received a call about a shooting at a gas station in the 1900 block of Ramsey Street.

They said when they arrived, the victim told them he was pumping gas when a suspect -- who was driving a dark colored sedan with damage to the right front quarter panel -- walked up to him, demanded money and then shot him. The suspect then left the scene on foot.

Police later identified the suspect as 23-year-old Ricky Martin Jr. He is wanted for attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Martin is decribed as an African American man standing 5' 6" and weighing 175 pounds.
