It happened around 5 p.m. on the southwest side of Wood Hall - a residence hall.
The victim said the men forcefully took a book bag and other personal items and then took off down Western Boulevard towards downtown Raleigh.
The student immediately went to an emergency call box and contacted police, but the robbers had made their escape.
One robber had on a red ball cap, white T-shirt, khaki shorts, and had a tattoo on the ride side of his neck. The other had on a dark-colored (possibly green) striped polo shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call (919) 515-3000.
