Rally held in Raleigh for Trayvon Martin

RALEIGH

Martin was the unarmed Florida teen killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer in February.

George Zimmerman is the neighborhood watch volunteer who admitted to shooting Martin. He has not been charged in the death and maintains that he was acting in self-defense.

Organizers of the Raleigh event said it is important that people understand what has happened to Martin and how Florida leaders are handling the case. Martin's supporters are trying to make their voices heard in what they call a fight against racial injustice.

"I can't imagine what I'd feel like if my son had been killed the way he was," said Eden Taylor, a participant in Saturday's rally.
