Teen bicyclist remains in critical condition

RALEIGH

Troopers said 15-year-old Tyrin Stubbs was riding his bike on Barwell Road, near Royal Acres Drive around 4 p.m. when he was hit by a car.

The teen suffered serious injuries in the crash. Troopers expect to file charges against the driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Nakesha White in the coming days. Officials told ABC11 that speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident.

Officials shut down the road for about two hours while the Highway Patrol and Raleigh Police investigated.

Stubbs was taken to WakeMed where he remained in critical condition on Sunday.
