One arrested another at large in shooting

Goldsboro

On March 25, Goldsboro police responded to a shooting reported at Westview Court and Poplar Street. Four victims were found and taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.  Warrants were issued for Braddock Bernard Gross, III and Billy Renaldo Hamm, Jr.

On Saturday, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of one that Gross was said to have been traveling in. Police identified the front seat passenger as Gross and stopped the vehicle in the 200 block of North Slocumb Street.

Gross was taken into custody and charged with four counts of attempted first degree murder, and three counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.  Gross was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $4,150,000 secure bond.

Police said Billy Hamm Jr. remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information on the location of Hamm is asked to call the Goldsboro Police Department at (919) 705-6572 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 735-2255.  Calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
