Tom Pike will join the Research Triangle Park biopharmaceutical services company on April 30.
The company said the move is part of their long-term succession planning.
Dennis Gillings, CBE, who founded the company, continues as executive chairman of its Board of Directors.
Pike brings 30 years of experience to Quintiles. He spent 22 years at Accenture. Since leaving that company in 2010, Pike has been involved with a number of start-ups in the technology and healthcare sectors.
