Lightning the culprit in house fire

CARY, N.C.

In Cary, fire officials blamed lightning for a house fire in the 600 block of Kingswood Drive.

Fire fighters were called around 5 p.m., as the storm moved through western Wake County.

Mark Hinton, of the Cary Fire Department, said flames could be seen from the house upon arrival.

"We had heavy flames showing from the attic," said Hinton. "There is heavy damage to the attic of the structure and to the second floor."

No injuries were reported.
