North Carolina's unemployment rate drops

The North Carolina Department of Commerce Division of Employment Security said Friday that the state's unemployment rate has fallen 0.3 percent of a percentage point.

In April, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 9.4 percent from March's revised rate of 9.7 percent. The number of persons unemployed decreased by 12,686 to 439,368.
