Hewitt was charged with a DUI on April 8, six weeks after he started his new post as city manager of Hollywood, Florida.
Police said he was driving erratically when they pulled him over. He blew over the legal limit.
The city commission is still deciding whether Hewitt should be disciplined by the city.
