Drying lake bed in drought conditions

The Drought Management Advisory Council announced Thursday that no part of the state is experiencing drought conditions.

The North Carolina Drought Advisory issued on Tuesday showed that only 36 counties out of 100 were abnormally dry compared to the rest of the state. The central part of North Carolina and the southern coastline were the most impacted.

It is the first time in two years that North Carolina has not been under a drought.
