Suspect leads police on high speed chase

A larceny suspect led police on a high speed chase in Wake County Thursday evening at speeds up to 110 mph.

The chase started in Zebulon and ended on Interstate 540 near Knightdale Boulevard, when it appeared that the suspect pulled over in the median.

Police found DVD players and diapers inside the vehicle, which were believed to have been stolen from the Wal-Mart on East Gannon Avenue in Zebulon.

The suspect, 25-year-old Hendrick Tanner, of Knightdale, is being charged with larceny and felony speed to elude.

Zebulon and Knightdale police along with the State Highway Patrol and the Wake County Sheriff's office were all involved in the chase.

Police said speeds during the chase got as high as 110 mph.

No injuries were reported.
