Police said 25-year-old Al Kareem Parrish, of Coolridge Court, was shot in the abdomen and in the hand at around 10 a.m. in the parking lot next to his residence.
Parrish was taken to Duke Raleigh hospital and subsequently transferred to WakeMed.
Later on Monday, police charged 38-year-old Andrew Peart with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Peart was taken to Wake County Jail by Monday night.
