Deputies shoot at man during chase

DURHAM

Fifty-five-year-old Ronnie Bullock was charged with felony speeding to elude arrest, assault with a deadly weapon, driving with a revoked license, DWI, and injury to personal property.

It started in Granville County around midnight and ended on Geer Street in Durham.

The Granville County Sheriff's Office said that one of their deputies attempted to stop a vehicle with suspicious tags when Bullock evaded the officer.

The sheriff's office said deputies fired shots when Bullock tried to ram their vehicle and did so to disable the suspect's car.

Authorities said Bullock then pulled the car over on Geer Street, got out, and ran.

Heavily armed officers searched the area for the suspect and eventually tracked him to a home about a quarter of a mile on Redwood Road.

Officials said Bullock has a criminal record that dates back to 1988 and includes several convictions including drug charges.

Authorities said he lives in the Redwood Road area where he was apprehended.
