Authorities have arrested two men in connection with a shooting that injured a Wake County gas station clerk last month.

The shooting happened at the corner of Penny and Olde South roads just after 9 p.m. on June 21.

Jerry Fuquay, who co-owns the gas station, was shot in the neck during an apparent armed robbery as he was closing the store.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Traveon Shaquille Martin and 18-year-old Quamaine Deshawn Carmichael in connection with the incident. Both are facing charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder and felony conspiracy. Martin is also charged with possession of stolen property.

According to arrest warrants, a bank bag containing $1,800 in cash and deposit slips were stolen from Hardee's Food Mart.

Martin and Carmichael are currently in the Wake County Jail under a $1 million bond. They are scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
