A Marine Osprey aircraft from Marine Corps Air Station New River declared an emergency Monday afternoon.

The pilot called in issues with the drive shaft. The tilt-rotor aircraft managed to land safely at Wilmington International Airport. No one was injured.

Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what happened.

The Osprey has a long history of safety problems but the Pentagon has said it's a reliable and safe aircraft.
