Officers were called about a shooting in the 1500 block of Gilmer Avenue just before midnight.
When they arrived, they found 27-year-old William Nolan Clark of Raleigh in front of a home. Authorities said he has been shot.
Clark was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made at this time.
