Ann Romney spent the Thursday in Greensboro campaigning for her husband, Republican Mitt Romney.
Dozens of people gathered to catch a glimpse of Ann Romney.
She received a warm welcome and talked about how she believes North Carolina will help her husband win the presidency. She also spoke about the need for change.
"For the first time in the history of this country, people are saying to me my children are not going to be better off than I am," said Mrs. Romney." That is not the way it is supposed to be in America. We have got to do something about that. "
Following the rally, Mrs. Romney answered some questions from the crowd, including why she feels her husband is the best man for the job.
"He's a turnaround guy. He's turned around companies," said Mrs. Romney. "He's turned around the Olympics. He turned around the state of Massachusetts."
Mrs. Romney also talked about a recent conversation she had with Barbara Bush, in which the former First Lady shared why November's election is so important.
"She's 86 years old and she said to me, 'This is the most important election in my lifetime!' And I listened to her when she said that, because she was the mother of a president, she was the wife of a president and she's lived 86 years and she, totally believes that this is the most important election of our lifetime."
First Lady Michelle Obama is expected to be in Raleigh on Aug. 1 for a campaign event.
