Three arrested in two BP robberies

DURHAM, N.C.

Police said a customer at the BP on North Roxboro Street was robbed around 4:25 a.m. A man told police he was walking to his vehicle when a male suspect got in front of his car. The suspect pulled out a knife and stole some items from the victim's car before getting away.

As officers were responding to that call, the BP at Avondale Avenue and Foushee Street was also being robbed. The second BP is just a short distance from the first robbery.

A male victim suffered hand and head injuries during the second robbery. He was taken to Duke Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

While police were at the location of the second robbery, an officer spotted a man that matched the description of one of the suspects. After a foot chase, officers were able to arrest the man.

Officers also stopped a vehicle with the men inside behind a business on Avondale Drive. Both men were arrested in connection with the robberies.

Marquis Watson, 25, of McDonough, Georgia was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Eliud Castellanos, 23, of Meriwether Drive in Durham was charged with one count of accessory after the fact of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Matthew Charles Anderson, 25, also of Meriwether Drive in Durham was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and accessory after the fact of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
