Public's help needed in missing teen case

GOLDSBORO, N.C.

Investigators believe Ken McLaurin Jr. was abducted Sept. 9, but they don't have many clues on his whereabouts.

McLaurin's parents said it is not like him to be missing and not contact them for one day, much less eight.

He was last seen in the 700 block of Bain Street at the Woodcrest housing complex. Police said they have information that McLaurin was abducted by four men.

At a news conference Monday, investigators said again that the men were driving a 1990s model bluish grey 4-door Oldsmobile with faded paint.

McLaurin is described as 5 foot 9 inches tall, 135 pounds, black hair, brown eyes and dark skinned. Both of Kennedy's ears are pierced and he has a tattoo of the initial "K" on his left hand.

McLaurin had just started his junior year at Goldsboro High School. His parents are hoping that the public can help them find him.

"It's been eight days and I just need him back home. Getting up in the morning is just hard. Going to bed at night is hard," said McLaurin's mother, Kim Best.  "I don't know where he is, where he's laying his head at. If anybody knows anything that can lead to his whereabouts, please just call it in to the tip line."

Police also said the tip line is their best bet at finding McLaurin. The number is (919) 580-4243.
