Twenty-five-year-old Ebony Merritt is now behind bars in the Wake County Jail charged with child abuse.
Police say Merritt left her child in a stroller alone at the front porch of a home in the 1200 block of South East Street in Raleigh late Wednesday night.
She reportedly knocked on the door and then walked away. Police described it as a relative's home.
Merritt's family brought the child inside and called police.
