After a series of criminal incidents in her neighborhood, Emory Woods Estates resident Sherry Eubanks took a stand against her would-be robber. "We came face to face.. the only thing that was blocking us was the wooden door, " Eubanks recalls.

The suspect had broken into her car and was trying to break into her door when she decided to fight back, scaring him away. The would-be robber fled on foot to a nearby getaway car.

Eubanks said she and her neighbors are concerned about other car and home break-ins.

Records show there have been at least five burglaries or break-ins in the Emory Woods neighborhood in recent months.

Police later caught the thief and also arrested two other men. Police found a checkbook, laptop, drugs, and other stolen items in the getaway car.
