The problem was first reported around 9 a.m. Crews were able to restore operations about an hour later.
They said they are reviewing the cause of the problem to avoid future issues.
Officials said residents can still call (910) 433-1529 or (910) 433-1530 to speak with someone from the Fayetteville Police Department.
