" I wish she was here, but I know she's watching as she sees all this love," Faith's cousin Consuela Richardson said.
Carolina Indian Circle, the undergraduate American Indian student organization, hosted the celebration. Hedgepeth was a member of the UNC student group and a member of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe in Warren County.
The theme of Saturday's powwow was "Keeping The Faith, Through Honoring Our Traditions," to honor the life of Hedgepeth, who was killed this past September. The organization that hosted the event donated the proceeds to a scholarship set up in her name.
"There's a lot of people out here that want to see justice for Faith. They want to find out who did this and bring the consequences to bear," Faith's father Roland Hedgepeth said.
The 19-year-old sophomore was found dead in her off-campus apartment Sept. 7 by her roommate.
In recent weeks, investigators said their release of information in the student's murder has led to new tips in the case. They have never said what new information they had received.

Reward money in the case has steadily built in the months since Hedgepeth's death. The total available for information leading to an arrest and conviction is now $39,000.
