Victim injured in shooting near St. Augustine's University in Raleigh dies

RALEIGH

It happened around 12:45 a.m. Thursday at the Washington Terrace Apartments on Milburnie Road, across the street from Saint Augustine's University's campus.

When authorities arrived, they found 24-year-old Travis Ramon Lucas critically injured and rushed him to WakeMed hospital where he later died.

Raleigh police said Lucas was shot after two suspects broke into his home. The pair fled the scene on foot and are currently being sought by police.

The first suspect was decribed as an African American man with a thin build and standing at about 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, black skull cap and black pants.

The second suspect was decribed as an African American man with a stocky, muscular build and standing at about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a white or brown skull cap and a gray jacket.
