Hoke sheriff breaks up 'major' drug operation

HOKE COUNTY, N.C.

Officers with the Hoke County Special Operations and Drug Unit executed a search warrant at 350 Purvis Court, located off Highway 401 Business on Friday.

They seized "a quantity of drugs" along with $397,134 in cash, 5 weapons - including one AK-47, two 45 caliber handguns, one 357 magnum, and one Winchester Rifle -, one money counter machine, and five vehicles.

Peterkin said the investigation shows the alleged drug operation extended outside Hoke County and the state of North Carolina.

The sheriff identified the men arrested as: Eusebio Ciriaco, 28, Jose Luis Hernandez, 20, Alejandro Pano Fuentes, 35, and Javier Patricio Anecetu, 24. He said they are all charged with possession of drugs with intent to distribute. Bond for each was set at $1 million.

Peterkins said the men were in the country illegally, and the Department of Homeland Security has placed detainers on the men.
