Fort Bragg announces furlough, sequestration-related service cuts

FORT BRAGG, N.C.

They say the key to all the cuts is that training and equipment will not be compromised to make sure soldiers will be ready if and when they are called to serve.

Commanders stress that the sequestration cuts will not affect military training, equipment needs, and readiness.

"While the furloughs will impact the services that we can provide to the military community, we will not lose our capacity to train and equip our Airborne and Special Operations service member, deploy them if the call comes, and provide essential life, health and safety measures to our war fighters, their Families and our civilian workforce," said Col. Jeffrey Sanborn, Fort Bragg Garrison Commander.
