Fayetteville police search for robbery suspects

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.

Police responded to the Kangaroo store at 1302 Robeson Street around 10:11 p.m.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the business with handgun, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded money and cigarettes.

Once the store clerk gave him what he asked for, the suspect fled in a dark-colored vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 30 years old. He is believed to be about 5'5'' and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and a white cloth covering his face.

Just hours later at 3:23 a.m., police responded to another report of an armed robbery at a Kangaroo store, this time at 1300 Hope Mills Road.

This time, two suspects entered the business and demanded money from the clerk, according to police. While one of the suspects grabbed the money, the second suspect fired the handgun into the store's floor. Then the suspects fled the store on foot.

Police have described the suspects as two black males between 19 and 20 years old. They are both believed to be about 5'5''. One suspect was last seen wearing a dark and white striped shirt with jeans and a blue bandana covering his face. The other was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and a bandana covering his face.

Police have not said if they believe the two robberies are related.
