Wendell man pleads guilty in teen shooting

WENDELL, N.C.

Judge Thomas Lock sentenced Robert Furey to a minimum of 13 months and a maximum of 25 months in prison for the shooting of Nick Exley.

Furey told investigators he was showing Exley and another friend a rifle when it went off, hitting the teen in December.

Doyle said the shooting was clearly not intentional, but Furey was negligent.
