According to Sheriff Jerry Monette, an elderly black male, armed with a shotgun and a handgun, shot two tree trimmers and a neighbor in the 2100 block of Streets Ferry Road, near Vanceboro.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. less than a mile from West Craven High School.
Monette told WCTI-TV that the gunman also shot at other people, but they were not hit.
