Durham mother and children robbed at gunpoint in home

DURHAM, N.C.

The pair apparently came in through a window at the home in the 300 block Dacian Avenue just after 7:30 a.m.

The men entered with their faces covered and showed their weapons. The woman said she screamed and they told her to calm down and forced the family into another room.

The suspects then took items from the home, including the victim's cellphone, credit cards, and the family car. The car was recovered a few blocks away along with her cell phone.

Even though some of the items have been recovered, the family is sharing their frustration over the incident and is sending a message to the suspects.

"Stop doing that because you terrified some families. Nobody wants to have this experience," said the victim's husband Carlos Caballero.

The woman was able to tell police that the men spoke with an accent. Durham police are asked for help finding the men. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
