Cherry Point Air Show canceled due to budget constraints

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C.

The air station's commanding officer said he made the decision to cancel the biennial event, due to major reductions in the air station's budget for the coming year.

"Our top priority continues to be supporting the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing to train to go anywhere, at any time, to fight and to win," said Col. Chris Pappas, Cherry Point's commanding officer. "We're prioritizing spending to ensure this priority is met."

If conducted, the next Cherry Point Air Show, would likely be scheduled for spring of 2016.
