Driver rams parked police patrol car

CLAYTON

It happened early Saturday morning after a Clayton Police officer stopped on Barbour Mill Road to investigate what authorities said was a suspicious person.

While the officer's car was parked with its emergency lights flashing and siren on, police said 22-year-old Charae Chantel Wallace slammed into the back of the cruiser.

The officer suffered minor injuries, while the patrol car sustained major damaged.

Wallace was arrested and charged with driving while impaired, failure to reduce speed, and failing to heed blue lights and siren.
