Investigators said 31-year-old Robert Lewis Carden Jr. fled on foot as they served a search warrant, but he was quickly captured.
In addition to the processed pot, deputies said they found 158 marijuana plants, $40,611 in cash, a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and several items used in the manufacture of marijuana including artificial sunlight lamps, two 500-gallon water tanks, humidifiers, carbon dioxide tanks and more.
The Durham County Sheriff's office said the drugs had an estimated street value of $834,661.
Carden is charged with manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of manufacturing marijuana, marijuana trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to sell, deliver, or manufacture marijuana.
He posted a $100,000 bond and was released.
